Kemtrak Photometer DCP007-NIR
DESCRIPTION
The Kemtrak DCP007-NIR flow-through industrial photometer is an advanced dual-wavelength NIR photometer designed to accurately measure the concentration of process liquids and gases with near-infrared (NIR) absorption coefficients from 850 to 2000 nm.
The Kemtrak DCP007-NIR uses a long-life, high-efficiency near-infrared light-emitting diode (LED) source with a reliable industrial-grade fiber optic cable for bias-free, drift-free measurements and very high accuracy. The Kemtrak DCP007-NIR photometer operates smoothly with automatic compensation for sample turbidity and/or contamination of the optical cell windows.
Used to measure:
- Water/solvent mixtures (ppm - 100%)
- Alcohol concentration (methanol, ethanol, other)
- Solvent Gradient Monitoring
- Solvent recovery
- Polymer reaction endpoint
- Caustic soda (NaOH) content in water
- Acid concentration (Sulfuric Acid, and others)
- Solutions of salts
- Sugar, molasses
- Metal ions
- Can be used in conjunction with other Kemtrak DCP007 models, providing a wider range of measurements
Benefits:
- Measurements are made in real time
- LED light source is used instead of traditional mercury light source: no heating of light filters, which leads to their short life span
- LED light sources do not require special handling compared to elements containing mercury
- Does not require spare parts, or simple replacement of the main components after a long period of operation.
- Does not require any consumables
- The dual-wavelength filter range covers compounds with an absorption of 850 - 2000 nm and allows measurement of Organic and Inorganic compounds and Elements in Liquid and Gaseous phase
- Measurement without bias and drift in results, with a coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.99
- Measurements up to 5 AU (1 cm OPL) allows deeper absorption measurements with shorter trajectories
- Temperature compensation and possible compensation for suspended particles
- Non-contact measurement of measured Samples: Light passes through fiber-optic reinforced cables to the measuring cells, preventing the flowing samples from being exposed to either electromagnetic or temperature effects
- Analog output (0/4-20 mA)
- Modbus (slave) connections via TCP/IP and Profibus (optional)
- Local & web user interface (TCP/IP)
- Enclosure explosion protection: ATEX Exd IIB + H2 T6 IP66 Category II 2 G (If required)
- Easy to handle and install
Comparison with other Measurement Methods
The Kemtrak DCP007-NIR analyzer is the only linear industrial flow-through photometric analyzer that can measure concentrations of various components in concentrations from 0 to 100% by weight. Other technologies require complex calibration and verification procedures and have limited measurement ranges, (or have ranges where measurement is not possible), and provide non-linear resolution and response curves that are inverted. The Kemtrak DCP007-NIR analyzer ensures the safety of the measurement process by never giving the same measurement value for different concentrations.
An example of measuring Sulfuric Acid concentrations using the Kemtrak DCP007-NIR analyzer is shown below.
